Okay, I've kept you in suspense long enough. The destination for the May chapter meeting ride is Golden Gardens Park. In the late 60's, this was the destination for the car cruising scene. I was a bit young (still at the ripe age of 11) but my brother-in-law who is a few years older says it was amazing. People would line both sides of the parking lot, to either watch the cars that would cruise the length of the parking lot, wax their cars, or other things that teenagers might do on a Friday/Saturday night. My brother-in-law says one night a hot rod burned rubber then entire length of the lot.
It wasn't long until the Police decided to shut it down by placing barriers (which are still there to this day) and issuing a rash of tickets. By the time I hit the cruising scene in my '72 Camaro SS, the location had changed to Colby Avenue in Everett.

For lunch, we will double back to Spuds Fish & Chips at 9702 NE Juanita Drive (parking lot across the street).


For challenges, we will face a lot of street lights. If we get separated, follow the turn by turn, or if possible, I will pull aside to regroup.

Requesting a sweep and possible extra lead and sweep if we get a big group.

This is my last hurrah as a Road Captain for ESHOG. Let's make it a good one!
