One hundred and fifty years ago, the first chunks of coal were being extracted from the original mine fifty feet below the top of Newcastle GC.

The first of more than 10 million tons of coal removed over a 100-year period. In 1963, the property was sold for home development, but the top was to be a landfill instead, because of too many coal tunnel collapses.

Scott Oki purchased the property in 1994 and the Newcastle Course opened in 1999. Today it’s among the best venue on the Eastside for meetings, celebrations, motorcycle picture taking, and golf lies above the source of the first commodity exported from Seattle

The monthly challenge is a local (or not) place that you ride to every month. Everyone who makes the trek has their name put into a drawing. The drawing is pulled at the monthly chapter meeting and the winner gets an Eastside Harley Gift Card. While winning a giftcard is cool, having an excuse to get out and ride by yourself or with others to a place you've never been is priceless.
