Hwy 112, Fort St., and Bayview Ave, Neah Bay, WA
Take it to the limit one more time! For the die-hard riders among us, as well as those who simply wish to explore more of what our great State has to offer, head out to Neah Bay. Neah Bay is the furthest most Western point in the contiguous United States.
Both established and abandoned in 1792 (a whopping four months from creation to abandonment), Fort Nuñez Gaona was the first European settlement built North of San Francisco. 83 sailors and soldiers, led by Spanish Naval Lieutenant Sálvador Fidalgo, built a fort with six mounted guns, a blacksmith’s shop, barracks, a bakery, and corrals. The men had settled on land occupied by the Makah, and by the end of the summer, the colonists’ relations with the tribe turned unfriendly. Spain relinquished its claim to this region in 1819 under the Adams Onis Treaty.
You’ll find this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it [only building remaining] fort located at the intersection of Hwy 112, Fort St., and Bayview Ave.

The monthly challenge is a local (or not) place that you ride to every month. Everyone who makes the trek has their name put into a drawing. The drawing is pulled at the monthly chapter meeting and the winner gets an Eastside Harley Gift Card. While winning a giftcard is cool, having an excuse to get out and ride by yourself or with others to a place you've never been is priceless.
