We've had a great start to the year, with an excellent response to the January D and membership sign-up in January. Let’s keep that going! Don’t forget to also get your first mileage reading done for the new year.

Image

We have a new Ride 365 goal in 2023 of 350,000 miles! This is a huge goal, but we should be able to reach it readily with greater participation. It’s important to get your first and final mileage readings done for the year.

Our HOG Manager has committed to giving someone available to enter mileage readings at our meetings. So, as long as you have your bike registered for the mileage program, all you need to do is bring along a photo of its odometer.

The HOG Mileage Program form is available for download from our website and there are paper forms at the dealership.

Third Sunday Suppers . . . Starting in February I plan on bringing back the dinners we used to have on the weekends. After speaking to many of the members,  during the week does not work for the majority of us. However, we  will have an occasional one during the week. So I’m going to put them on the calendar as “Third Sunday Suppers”.

Sunday, 2/19 - 4:00pm Third Sunday Social at the McMenamins Woodshop at Anderson School. Please remember to RSVP.

Suggestions Appreciated . . . I would appreciate any suggestions from our  members to suggest their favorite restaurants (in all different areas). Also any activity suggestions would be very much appreciated.

February

Ride 365: You’ve probably already read our posts on Ride 365, and on behalf of the Eastside Chapter, we really want to keep the momentum going from last year. So please TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR CURRENT MILEAGE AND VIN (if your vin is not on your form) and bring it into the dealership when you can! That picture counts as the start when you fill out the normal form!

I’d like to thank again the following riders for riding to at least 10 of the 12 D’s in 2022. That is deeply appreciated to see you all get out that much and I feel all the D pictures INSPIRE us to get out and ride! The first 3 riders below were a perfect 12 for 12!

Regarding the February D, this is the first of more to come mixed into some of the monthly D’s that will have something in common with Harley Davidson’s 120th year anniversary!

The February destination is the Snoqualmie Train Depot located at 38625 SE King St, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.

Just like H-D is celebrating 120 years, The City of Snoqualmie is celebrating incorporating in 1903 – 120 years as well!! The small old B/W picture of the train depot is circa 1903!

Snoqualmie was a small rustic community known for logging, farming, and scenic Snoqualmie Falls for nearly all its first 100 years – and now look!

Get a pic of yourself, your bike, and the Train Depot in the background for a chance at a $25 gift card at our upcoming chapter meeting! Send it to [email protected] or post it on our ES Roadhog Facebook group! You have until February 24th to complete this destination.

When We Are Needed Most

I wanted to share a message of gratitude that comes from Brittany Rawson - widow of Andrew Rawson with you. This exemplifies exactly what the Biker Community does best: We come together when we are needed most.

For those who may not know, former Eastside Harley and Destination Harley employee Andrew Rawson was killed on his motorcycle in San Francisco on December 7th, 2022. At only 29 years old, Andrew left behind his wife Britanny and their four children ages 18 months to 7 years old. His father Scott Rawson worked here as Service Manager, and his two brothers Scotty and Mike worked here as well, along with Scott’s wife Tricia Rawson. This last summer the entire family moved to the Bay area to take new positions in a family of five dealerships. Andrew was on his way to work when the accident occurred.
